Personal Loan Time is an independent education site about personal loans, debt and the stress that comes with them. Our goal is simple: help you make a decision you’ll still feel good about in a year.
How we write
- We back up facts with sources, mostly government agencies like the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission and the Federal Reserve.
- We update articles when rules or rates change, and we show when figures were checked.
- We’re not here to judge anyone’s choices. Sometimes a loan is a good fit, and sometimes cutting back for a while gets you there instead. We lay out both so you can decide.
Advertiser disclosure
Personal Loan Time is supported by advertising. We may earn a commission when you click certain links and apply for a product. Those links are labeled. Compensation may affect which offers appear and where, but it never changes our explanations or calculators. We are not a lender, we don’t make credit decisions, and we don’t see your application.
Not financial advice
Our content is for general education. For advice about your situation, talk to a qualified professional, such as a nonprofit credit counselor.
